About The Role

We are looking for four On-Boarding Business Development Managers to support and integrate our new retailers into best-one and Costcutter symbol group.

Location: North- West, Northern Ireland 

About the Role:

You will fully support the onboarding process of each retailer to become fully engaged with all services and operations to make the transition to best-one or Costcutter

Accountable for the delivery of all KPI’s and communications/engagement with our retailers across a defined geographical area to deliver sales and margin, through close management, robust store development and implementation of business initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

  • All members are trained on ordering platforms for daily orders and pre-sells
  • All members are set up with the correct delivery schedules for ambient and chilled
  • Ensure all members are serviced and supported with a range of tailored support, including appropriate weekly callage and commercial reviews which focus on sales, profit, loyalty, operating standards, growth opportunities, range reviews, income via rebates
  • Fully accountable for the end-to-end ownership and resolution of retailer issues
  • Accountable for the delivery of promotional execution and purchase compliance in store
  • Where required work in conjunction with the store development team and BDM to deliver store development works and JBP creation for handover
  • Provide insight from members back into the business which can be utilized to improve the offer and services to members
  • Outstanding ambassador for the brands, ensuring positive communication and compliance to brand standards
  • Work in conjunction with the New Business team to grow net membership in accordance with targets, identifying opportunities for new members to join the business and helping existing members to grow their business and/or store numbers
  • Induction and integration of new members in accordance with set standards to ensure a professional and supportive on-boarding experience, ensuring maximum loyalty to the group
  • Respond to and address areas of risk where members are considering leaving or selling

About You

  • Strong commercial understanding of symbol group industry including competitor market activity and market trends
  • Ability to understand a profit and loss account and understand commercial information
  • A detailed eye for retailing standards and the ability to influence member compliance
  • Knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Full detailed knowledge of CPOS/EPOS including interrogation of data and ability to support the retailers with use of same
  • Outstanding presenting and influencing skills
  • A confident, driven and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Takes responsibility and accountability for their whole remit
  • A great problem solver with outstanding judgement
  • Ability to prioritise and strike a balance between proactive and reactive
  • Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work across a wider team of peers, sharing best practice, networking and supporting each other’s challenges
  • Outstanding organisational skills with requests made centrally responded to within deadlines and returned in full
