Salary: £40,000- £45,000 per annum
  
Our Marketing Team is looking to backfill this position following an internal promotion as we work through our integration into Bestway Retail following our acquisition in early 2021.
  
You will be line managing two managers who themselves are responsible for leading seven direct reports between them across our in-house studio and promotional and local marketing teams. This role will need you to use your experience to continue to drive our change agenda as we navigate the ongoing integration.
  
You and your team will be working on a range of household name retail brands spanning the length and breadth of the country – developing high-quality assets to activate both in-store and digitally and with a strong focus on delivery and a bias towards action!
  
The core of your work will be supporting and overseeing the processes within your team, ensuring that the governance and processes work as intended to ensure all work is delivered on time, within budget and with 100% accuracy. 
  
Alongside this, you will own and activate our retailer recruitment strategy, being the driving force behind our advertising and communications efforts to secure inbound leads from retailers wanting to be part of the Bestway family. To achieve this, you will call upon your B2B experience and expertise.

 Reporting to the Head of Marketing, as a (Senior) Marketing Manager your main duties will include:
 
  • The leadership & day-to-day support / management of the Promotional, Local Marketing and Studio teams, ensuring that the governance and processes work as intended to ensure all work is delivered per our strict deadlines, within budget and with 100% accuracy

  • The accountability for researching, designing, briefing and developing our promotional and seasonal campaigns with the team to underpin our promotional marketing efforts (Easter, Summer, Halloween, Christmas…etc.). Then, undertaking analysis to evaluate the success of all campaign activity, championing a test, learn and refine approach and sharing best practices within the team and cross-functionally

  • The ownership of the strategy and activity that drives inbound retailer leads for new retailer recruitment. Developing and executing the strategy, activation plan and advertising content to achieve lead targets. Activating marketing campaigns for awareness-raising and demand generation, ensuring an appropriate mix of activities and channels at key touchpoints across the inbound lead journey

  • The ownership of our insight partner relationships and driving insight-driven decision-making across the business through cross-functional engagement and as part of the ‘business as usual’ work cycles. Moreover, working alongside our insight partners to commission and oversee all necessary research projects and turn all data into useful, actionable insights for the organisation

  • Working alongside the Head of Marketing and other marketing leads to develop the wider medium and long-term marketing strategy and turn this strategy into tactics & actions to achieve our goals

  • Working cross-functionally and closely across the organisation at all levels to support all initiatives by securing their buy-in to achieve the desired results

  • Planning and managing the marketing budget (as well as inbound income), ensuring all marketing activity delivers value for money and showcases a positive ROI

  • Ad-hoc project management requirements of various marketing initiatives as needed by the team and / or business
 
 
  

About You

  • An experienced expert with knowledge across the full marketing mix

  • Can evidence a track record and your full understanding of B2B & B2C marketing principles & tools

  • Can showcase and evidence strong, confident leadership skills and proven experience at the management level, particularly in fast-paced organisations
  • A proven ability to lead and deliver innovative, effective marketing campaigns across physical and digital channels

  • An experienced and proven project manager who can deliver on time and on budget, every time
  • Experience working with industry insight partners across both syndicated and commissioned research

  • The ability to craft a strategy and to turn marketing strategy into delivery-focused marketing plans, facilitating and delivering a programme of effective marketing activity on time on budget
  • Strong customer and results orientation, with a focus on effective and timely delivery of objectives

  • The ability to be resilient in challenging circumstances and with a positive and proactive approach to achieving change

  • Excellent communication skills, with evidence of building credibility with a wide range of audiences
  • A proven ability to work cross-functionally, build strong working relationships and networks at all levels
  • A creative approach to solving complex problems

  • Of graduate calibre with a relevant degree and evidence of post-graduate continuous professional development, ideally Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or equivalent
  • Ideally experience of working in a retail organisation, or knowledge of the principles of retail marketing
