About The Role

Salary: £20,000-£23,000 per annum 

Our Activation Team is hiring an additional position as we work through our integration into Bestway Retail, following our acquisition in early 2021. 

You’ll be working alongside the Media and Activation manager and Social Media Executive to deliver our supplier funded activity. It’s a fast-paced role which will require a keen eye for detail and great organisational skills.

We’re a close-knit team who love to collaborate and work together to make sure we deliver best in class Activation across all our Marketing touch points.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Activate supplier bought media on a 3-weekly rolling promotional cycle, including brief writing and proofing of assets and pricing
  • Assist the Media and Activation manager in the creation a of suite of annual and supplier investment opportunities that can meet supplier income targets, presented through engaging promotional collateral such as videos and presentations
  • Supporting incremental income generation by working with the Media and Activation manager to create additional ad-hoc supplier opportunities
  • Ensure activation by acting as a key link within marketing between Promotions and Graphic Design and Communications teams
  • Management of our assets inbox to make sure all assets are available to activate supplier bookings each period
  • Admin support for MediaHUB, including uploading of activated bookings, downloading of assets and updating ROI 
  • Support with communications to our retail team to help drive wholesale product sales through our retailers of products on media
  • Creation of reports using quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate return-on-investment to suppliers
  • Management of credit card reports to support the Activation Team
  • Support Media and Activation manager by interfacing with suppliers in meetings as well as at events such as the Group’s annual supplier conference
  • Plan meetings, organising and establishing key supplier contacts and relationships
  • Support Media and Activation manager to work with Trading and suppliers to build specific media and activation plans, ensuring everything is closely linked to our shopper personas
  • Identify new opportunities through ongoing marketing research and against competitor benchmarking

Note, activation across owned printed collateral (such as Leaflets and Connect) is out of scope for this role.

About You

  • Experience in media and work with external agencies, desired by not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills:  you need to be approachable, friendly and empathetic, and able to relate to people on different levels with the business, our retailers, customers and suppliers
  • Influencing: you need to have the ability to communicate in an engaging and influencing way, both in 1:1 and group situations such as presentations
  • Keen eye for details: you need be able to proof to a high standard to ensure compliance across all our paid media
  • Creativity: you should be a creative thinker and problem solver with the ability to bring fresh ideas to life
  • Business acumen: you should have a sound commercial awareness
  • Communication: strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Awareness: a good knowledge of Marketing sub-team functions and ways of working
  • Ways of working: you should have the ability to work both alone and as part of a team, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Organised: excellent organisational skills, flexible, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising workload in a reactive pressurised environment
  • English language fluency: excellent written and spoken English
  • Drive: drive, tenacity, bags of initiative and a passion for our business
  • Understanding of UK retail and supplier sectors
  • Full UK driving license
